Williamsport, PA - Messiah College men's tennis pushed their win streak to five matches on Tuesday as they overpowered Lycoming College 8-1 at the West Branch Tennis Club. The Falcons took all three doubles matches, with No. 2
Justin Meckley and
Peter Shuck and No. 3 Dave Wichert and Zach Brunner winning by 8-1 scores. Although the No. 1 doubles match was given a run by Jason Mifsud and Cody Heffner, that one going 8-6 in favor of
Michael Brookhart and
Luke Hostetter.
The Falcons also won five of the six singles match-ups, all of which in straight sets without giving up more than 3 games in a set. The No. 1 singles match was the only one dropped to the Warriors, that one between
Michael Brookhart and Jason Mifsud. Mifsud won in two sets by scores of 6-1 and 6-2.
With the win the Falcons moved to 6-2 in the spring season and 3-0 in the Commonwealth. The team will look to continue their winning streak with a match on Saturday, Apr. 20, at Elizabethtown College.
