Grantham, PA - Both the men and women were victorious today on Criste Courts, defeating the Albright Lions with scores of 9-0 and 7-2, respectively.

The men showed a dominating performance today against the Lions of Albright College. Four of the six singles matches were won 6-0, 6-0 by the Falcons. Michael Brookhart surrendered a game in his first set and Dan Rusling gave up two games in his win.

As a pair, Brookhart and David Wichert won their doubles match 8-3. Justin Meckley and Peter Shuck secured their doubles victory with an 8-1 score.

For the women, Erin Ipsen faced a very tough Albright opponent, Victoria Foanio, who defeated Ipsen in two sets, 6-1, 6-2. Foanio and her partner, Christina Peacock, also proved tough against Ipsen and Eileen Barker in their doubles match, winning 8-6 over the Falcons.

Those were the only two losses the Falcons received on the day though, repeating the 7-2 margin of victory for the fourth time this spring season.

Although it wasn't easy getting those seven today, Molly Brubaker and Ellen Harpold had to take their doubles match into extra time and got the 7-2 tiebreak win in the final set. Katelyn Clark and Michelle Curtis also had to take their match to nine games, winning 9-7.

The win for the men ensures that they will host the Commonwealth semi finals on Tuesday, Apr. 30, against No. 3 Alvernia University. For the women, it means they will travel to No. 2 Lebanon Valley College for their semifinal match-up on Wednesday, May 1.
