Box Score

Salisbury, MD - No. 2 Salisbury stayed undefeated and moved to 10-0 on Friday by defeating No. 14 Messiah by the score of 14-1. The Sea Gulls scored 10 goals in the first half, and led 14-0 before the Falcons' Carly Bajus ended the shut out with 1:57 left in the game.

The Falcons and Sea Gulls each collected eight draw controls while Salisbury held a small margin (16-12) in groundballs. But Messiah turned the ball over 16 times and managed just 13 total shots compared to 24 attempts by the Sea Gulls.

A big blow for the Falcons came three minutes into the second-half when leading scorer Lizzy Keeney received her second yellow card and had to exit the game. Her first card came less than two minutes earlier, and set up the Falcosn having to play without a top performer for most of the last thirty minutes.

Taylor Phillips managed five saves in the cage for Messiah, with Ashton Wheatley and Alyssa Harmke combining for seven saves on Messiah shots.

The loss drops Messiah to 5-5 on the season, with Friday's loss being their fourth loss this season to teams ranked within the top eight of the IWLCA Top 20 Poll.

The Falcons will look to rebound on Tuesday, Apr. 9, when they host Commonwealth opponent Hood College at 4:00 p.m.
