Molly Brubaker received Rookie of the Year honors today from the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC), as her and
Eileen Barker made All-Commonwealth teams.
With the Rookie of the Year award, Brubaker was also selected to the First Team while Barker made the Honorable Mention team. The two freshman classmates both held dual records of 9-6.
Brubaker held an overall record of 9-7 and was 4-2 in conference play. She competed mostly from the No. 2 position and held a win streak of up to four matches during the season.
On the doubles court she had an overall record of 11-6 and was 5-1 in the conference while playing with
Ellen Harpold. The duo won eight of their last nine matches of the season.
Barker's Honorable Mention award comes after collecting a season record of 13-8 and a conference record of 4-2. She competed in the No.4 and 5 spots for the majority of her matches going 3-2 and 5-4, respectively. Barker also held a win streak for as many as four games this season.
In doubles competition she competed most of her matches with
Erin Ipsen in the No. 1 spot and had a record of 5-8. They were also 2-4 in conference competition.
Taking the Player of the Year award was Victoria Foania from Alvernia University. Coach of the year went to Joy Graeff from Lebanon Valley College.
