2014 IWLA All-American TeamsGrand Lake, CO – The IWLCA released their 2014 All-America teams on Monday and
Lizzy Keeney made the Third-Team to become the eighth All-American in program history. The honor comes after leading three Messiah Falcons to the IWLCA All-Region team last week.
Keeney finished her career with the Falcons as one of the most accomplished and decorated players in program history. Another dominant season this spring (71g, 37a, 99 DC) put her second all-time in goals (234) and points (324) and first all-time in draw controls (314). She is also fourth all-time with 90 career assists and her 99 draw controls this season broke her own single-season record of 88.
In her four years Keeney earned four All-Commonwealth honors, was named the 2011 conference Rookie of the Year, and was honored as the MAC Senior Scholar-Athlete for women's lacrosse.
With the award, Keeney became the fifth women's lacrosse player to earn an All-America spot in the past four years. Last year
Maddie Comfort was selected to the Second-Team from the defense.
This year there were 48 total student-athletes nominated to one of the three teams from all over the country and will be honored at the IWLCA All-America Banquet in King of Prussia, Pa., on June 7.
