Grantham, PA - The Messiah College Falcons, ranked 3rd in the regional bracket, will open their ninth NCAA Regionals appearance against the 2nd-ranked Alfred University Saxons at 1 p.m. Friday. The double-elimination tournament will be hosted by the 1st-ranked University of Rochester Yellowjackets.
The Falcons, gaining an at-large bid into the 2014 NCAA tournament after losing to eventual champion Lebanon Valley and 4th-ranked Alvernia University, missed out on the tournament last year after making it the previous four years. Alfred, who also earned an at-large bid in to the tournament after losing to Empire 8 champion Ithaca College, will be making their second-ever appearance after getting there in 2010.
