XML Box Score Grantham, PA – Six different players collected either an assist or a goal for No. 3 Messiah College on Saturday as the Falcons collected their third-straight shutout, 5-0 over Salisbury University. The Falcons allowed just a single shot on frame to the Sea Gulls as they moved to 5-0.
Olivia Snare scored her first goal of the season to put Messiah up 1-0 in the 37th minute. Her shot came on the far left post after
Regina Stump sent a perfect cross from the right side. The Falcons would collect seven other shots in the first-half, but Michelle Conrad collected four saves to keep the game score close.
Not long into the second-half Messiah doubled their lead.
Marisa Weaver did the honors off a feed from
Kyele Bridel, heading the ball through for her third tally in four games.
Twelve minutes later, in the 66th minute,
Nikki Elsaesser scored her fourth goal of the year to make it 3-0.
Holly Burgard collected the assist on Elsaesser's goal.
The Sea Gulls managed just one shot on frame, a shot in the 25th minute that was grabbed by keeper
Audra Larson.
The shutout was the Falcons' fourth of the year and they've scored eight goals across their last two victories.
The Falcons will next play on Wednesday, Sept. 17 when they host Eastern University on Shoemaker Field at 7:00 p.m.
