XML Box Score Frederick, MD - The Falcons traveled to Hood College Tuesday evening and overpowered the Blazers 3-0 (25-21, 25-15, 25-14). The sweep gave the Falcons their seventh straight win improving their record to 9-2 and 2-0 in the Commonwealth Conference.

Messiah was challenged in the first set, but the Falcons rose to the occasion as they won 25-21. The Falcons committed ten errors, which helped the Blazers stay within striking distance.
Kristen Douglas recorded the first and final kill of the set. Douglas finished the match with a team high of seven kills.

The Falcons dictated the second set winning 25-15. Messiah led 5-4 early in the set when they rattled off five consecutive points to take a 10-4 lead.
Brooke Gallagher set the Falcons up for success with 13 assists. Gallagher would finish with 19 assists in the match.

The third set was dominated by the Falcons. Messiah went on a five point streak early in the match to give the Falcons a 6-1 lead. Hood battled back to make the score 13-8 in the Falcons favor. Messiah went on another 5 point streak later in the match to increase their lead to 23-13. A kill from
Alyssa Vorbeck and an attack error by the Blazers gave the Falcons the set and match victory.

The Falcons will be back in action September 20 at 6:00 p.m. in Brubaker Auditorium when they take on Haverford College.
