ResultsGrantham, PA - Messiah College took four of six singles matches with Gettysburg College on Saturday to edge the Bullets 5-4.
Carly Dove played the clinching match for Messiah in the No. 6 singles, winning 6-4, 6-4,
Ashli Livermore led the Falcons with a win in the No. 1 singles (6-3, 6-0) and
Jennifer Kitlan (6-1, 1-6, 6-1),
Michelle Curtis (6-3, 6-0), and Dove followed suit in the No. 3, 4, and 6 singles, respectively.
Kelly Hopkins battled especially close in the No. 2 slot but eventually fell 3-6, 6-7 (7-9).
The Falcons fell behind Gettsyburg in the doubles at the start of the day, though Kitlan and Curtis kept it close with a win in the No. 2 slot (8-4). The tandems of both Livermore-Hopkins and Dove-Doron were both edged 8-6, though Livermore and Dove made up for those losses with decision in singles.
The Falcons will next play on Tuesday, Sept. 23 when host York College.
