Fort Pierce, FL - The Messiah Falcons wrapped up their spring break trip against the St. Mary College of Maryland Seahawks on Thursday morning falling by a final of 13-5. The Falcons scored first, plating four runners in the top of the first, but the Seahawks countered with an eight run inning in the bottom half of the frame.
The Seahawks added three insurance runs in the seventh and one in the eighth to secure the 13-5 victory.
Joseph Saufley (3-5 1 RBI) and
Josh Good (2-4 2 RBIs) led the Falcons at the plate.
Peter Fisher lasted only 2/3 of an inning on the mound and was saddled with the loss.
On the trip the Falcons split their four games going 2-2, but did take two out of three from Commonwealth Conference foe Albright to begin conference play.
With the loss, Messiah falls to 2-4 on the season while St. Mary's improves to 2-8.
The Falcons will next take the field at Alvernia on Monday at 3:30 p.m.
