Reading, PA - Messiah College dropped a Commonwealth match-up with Alvernia University on Monday, losing 7-2 on the road. With the loss the Falcons fell to 0-1 in the conference and saw their two-match win streak come to an end.

Jennifer Kitlan and Sydney Schandel took Messiah's lone doubles win, 8-6. Kelly Hopkins then won the Falcons' lone singles match in comeback fashion; Hopkins rallied from a 4-6 opening set loss to win the match 6-3 and 1-0 (10-6).

Messiah will try to even their conference record next week Tuesday, Apr. 7 when they travel to Lycoming College.
