Annville, PA - Messiah College dominated early and built a 10-1 lead en route to an 11-7 win over Lebanon Valley on Saturday afternoon.
Tyler Goglio tallied four times to lead five different scorers.
The win pushed Messiah to 3-1 in the Commonwealth Conference, and delivered the Dutchmen their first loss in conference play (4-1). Messiah also moved to 8-3 overall, their most wins in a single season since collecting 12 victories in 2011.
The Dutchmen struck first with their first and only score through three quarters of play with an unassisted goal from Klayton Garman. After Lebanon Valley's score, the Falcons scored ten unanswered goals, which started in the first quarter, and ended at the beginning of the fourth quarter.

The fourth quarter began with the Falcons holding a commanding 10-1 lead. The Dutchmen battled back and showed heart in the fourth quarter by outscoring the Falcons 6-1.
Goal scorers for the Dutchmen in the fourth quarter were Matt Lubawski, Koty Keefer, Klayton Garman, and Matt Lubawski. Although Lebanon Valley tightened the score at 11-7, Messiah's nine-goal lead heading into the fourth quarter was too much for the Dutchmen to overcome.
Statistically, the Falcons lead the Dutchmen in shots on goal (22-18), ground balls (44-21), and face-offs (15-6).
Brady Marburger collected 10 face-off victories and lost four, improving is face-off victory percentage to an impressive 62.7%.
Lebanon Valley was defeated in almost every statistical category but surprisingly committed fewer turnovers than Messiah (18-20).
The Falcons will next play this Wednesday at 4:00 pm when the Lions of Albright College travel to Messiah.
