As mentioned, the Falcons dug themselves an early hole after allowing five first-inning runs.
Steven Ridings got the first two outs of the inning before the Mustangs forced a two-out walk. The very next batter homered to give Stevenson a 2-0 lead. The next three Mustangs singled to load the bases before a double to left center cleared them and gave Stevenson a 5-0 lead.
The Falcons would begin their comeback in the bottom of the second.
Jon Heisey led off the inning with a double and
Jon Mullin drove him in with a single to center.
In the bottom of the third the Falcons added another run on a
Kyle Schoen double to right center. Then in the fourth the Falcons scored two runs on a
Derek Drake double to center field. After four innings the Mustangs led 5-4.
In the top of the fifth, the Mustangs added to their lead with an RBI triple and an RBI double to push their lead to 7-4. In the bottom of the fifth the Flacons got the two runs right back, Schoen singled down the line before Heisey unloaded for a two-run home run to left center.

Jon Mullin bunt single that scored Heisey from third.
Heading to the top of the seventh the Falcons held a 9-7 lead. Unfortunately for Messiah the lead did not last long. A leadoff single in the seventh brought the tying run to the plate. Troy Miller delivered for the Mustangs, tying the game on monster home run to right center field.
The Mustangs threated for more later in the inning, but Andrew Eyester threw out a runner at the plate that would have given Stevenson the lead.

Game TwoThe second game of the twin bill was a pitcher's dual for the first five and a half innings until the Falcons exploded for four runs in the bottom of the six before pulling out the 4-0 victory. The shutout was the Falcons' first shutout since they held Arcadia scoreless on Mar. 31, 2014.
David Nicolais picked up his third win of the season while pitching his first career complete game. Across the seven innings, Nicolais held the Mustangs to five hits and two walks while he struck out two.
Nicolais escaped jams through out the game, as Stevenson had runners on in each of the first five innings. Nicolais stranded two runners in the first, fourth, and fifth innings to keep the Mustangs off the scoreboard.
The Falcons had a chance to score in the early innings, however with the bases loaded in the second inning Messiah could not push one across thanks to a couple nice plays by the Mustangs' third baseman.
After the Falcons were turned away in the second, Mustangs' starter Matt Myers put Messiah down in order in the third, fourth, and fifth. However
Joseph Saufley led off the bottom of the sixth with a line-drive home run to right field that got out in a hurry. Saufley's solo homer was his fourth of the season and gave the Falcons a 1-0 lead.
Kyle Schoen and
Jon Heisey both drew walks after the home run and advanced into scoring position on a wild pitch.
