ResultsGrantham, PA – The Hood College Blazers were no match for an overpowering Falcons tennis team this afternoon, as Messiah went on to an easy 9-0 victory. The win secured the Falcons a Commonwealth Tournament birth as the No. 1 seed, which begins this Tuesday, Apr. 28.

Mike Brookhart started things off for Messiah in No. 1 singles, winning easily 6-0, 6-3, followed by a 6-0, 6-0 win from
Tim Dunn.

Messiah would cruise thorough the rest of their singles matches, dropping a combined eight games.

In doubles play, Brookhart and Dunn notched a decisive 8-1 win with
Peter Shuck and
Michael Kovacs overwhelming their Hood counterparts and en route to a strong 8-0 victory.
Devin Esch and
Connor Graybeal also went on to hand their opponents an 8-0 loss.

As previously mentioned, Messiah will next play in the Commonwealth Tournament on Tuesday, Apr. 28 beginning at 3:30 p.m. when they take on the No. 4 seeded Alvernia Crusaders. If they advance, they will either face No. 4 Lebanon Valley College or No. 2 Stevenson University in their pursuit to repeat as Commonwealth Champions.
