Austin Warren's thrilling 6-4, 7-5 win at No. 5 singles was the deciding match in Messiah's season-opening 5-4 win over York on Saturday afternoon.
Warren's win ended an exhilirating back-and-forth battle between the two teams. York started the day by taking two of the three doubles decisions, though
Tim Dunn and
Connor Graybeal earned a huge win at No. 1 doubles, 8-1.
In the singles Dunn,
Devin Esch, and
Connor Graybeal picked up wins to set up Warren's effort. Warren and York's Rory Handlin traded blows to the end before Warren earned the 7-5 decision.
The Falcons will next play on Thursday, Sept. 24 when they travel to Gettysburg for a 4:00 p.m. match.
