Falcons Cruise to Big Victory Over Red Devils

Carlisle, PA - No. 1 Messiah College went on the road and defeated the Red Devils of Dickinson College in a dominating 9-0 shutout. The Falcons tallied three goals before the half and added six more after the break en route to the lopsided victory. Kyele Bridel had a monster game and led the Falcons offensively with three goals.
 
Messiah started the game quickly as they took possession and Marisa Weaver found the back of the net only six minutes into the game. The Falcons wasted little time after their first goal of the game as Marisa Weaver fed Kyele Bridel for her first of three goals of the night. 
 
Kyele Bridel struck again with an assist by Nikki Elsaesser and extended the Falcons lead to 3-0 heading into the half.
 
Messiah's attack after halftime was punishing and effective; the Falcons tallied six goals off 11 shots and four corners. The first goal of the second half came in the 57th minute from Kyele Bridel and extended the Falcons lead to 4-0. Bridel stayed involved in the scoring frenzy when she found Marisa DeMonte for Messiah's fifth goal of the evening.
 
Leading 5-0, Messiah stayed aggressive and tallied their sixth score in the 66th minute when Macaulay Soto found Nikki Elsaesser for the goal. The Falcons kept pouring it on the Red Devils with a goal by Erin Sollenberger just four minutes later from their previous score.
 
Messiah continued their dominance with two more goals before the end of regulation and captured the 9-0 victory. The eighth goal of the game came from Ally Reinhardt with an assist by Erin Sollenberger. The ninth and final score for the Falcons came from a goal by Lydia Eichorn, assisted by Ava Petrosky.
 
The nine goals were a season-high for the Falcons, and their largest margin of victory since there 10-0 win over Lycoming on Oct. 7, 2014.
 
Messiah improved to 8-0-1 with the victory and will be back in action this Saturday when they travel to Hood College and take on the Blazers.
