York, PA - The Messiah women's tennis team was defeated by York College this afternoon 9-0.

The closest doubles match of the day came from the duo of Emily Wichert and Robin Schwarzmann who lost by a score of 8-5.

In the No. 3 singles spot Sydney Schandel played a close first set match losing 7-5 and then was defeated in the second set 6-1. Meagan Scala in the No. 4 singles spot, also played a close first set 6-3 but then lost the second set 6-1. 

Messiah returns next weekend, Oct. 15-16 for the MAC Individual Championships in Wilkes-Barre, PA.
