Westminster, MD - Messiah College women's lacrosse went down 2-0 at McDaniel on Saturday afternoon before scoring 18 of the game's final 19 goals in a lopsided road win. The Falcons outshot the Green Terror 44-14, with a 33-11 edge in shots on goal.

As mentioned the Green Terror took a quick 2-0 lead thanks to goals by Abby Phillips and Allison Farrell in the first six minutes. During the opening six minutes, the Falcons' first three shots were all saved by the Green Terror to keep Messiah off the board. The Falcons were unsuccessful on their next four shots, including a free position shot that sailed wide.

While it took the Falcons over eight and a half minutes to get on the board, when they did find the back of the net, the goals came in bunches.
Allie Colson started off the scoring for Messiah with an unassisted goal 8:32 into the first-half.
Kendra Herbenar tallied, also unassisted, less than two minutes later to tie the game at 2-2.

Over the next ten minutes the Falcons connected for six more goals to take an 8-2 lead. Colson,
Courtney Wagner, and
Shayna Delaney each scored twice in the ten-minute stretch.

McDaniel got back on the board with a free position goal with 6:19 remaining in the first-half cutting the Messiah lead to five goals at 8-3. The goal put an end to an 8-0 run for the Falcons that lasted 15:08 of the first-half.

Kendra Herbenar scored her second goal of the game and
Courtney Wagner added her third for in the first-half and the Falcons took a 10-3 lead into the break. At half time the Falcons held a 30-9 advantage in shots and a 22-8 edge in shots on goal.

After the break, Messiah picked up right where they left off when
Shayna Delaney connected one minute into the half off a pass from
Jenna Stover.
Stephanie Athens scored the next two goals for the Falcons to grow the lead to 13-3. With the 10-goal lead, Messiah kept the clock running throughout the remaining 25:11 of the regulation.

After Athens' pair of scores, the Falcons added five more goals including tallies from Wagner,
Annika Johnsen,
Jamie Bishop,
Audrey Liberati, and
Sam Brennan.

When it was all said and done, the Falcons scored 18 of the last 19 goals in the contest to come away with the 18-3 win and even their record to 1-1 on the young season. In the game 12 different Falcons collected points including nine different goal scorers, five of which scored multiple goals. The Falcons will next the field on Wednesday when they travel to York and take on the Spartans at 3:30 p.m.
