NFHCA Release
GILBERT, Ariz. - The National Field Hockey Coaches Association announced its 2017 Victory Sports Tours/NFHCA Division III Senior Game selections on Wednesday, and two student-athletes from the Messiah field hockey program have been added to the competition - midfielder
Kristin Donohue and forward
Carissa Gehman.
Donohue is currently fourth on the Falcons with 15 points on the season, including a team-high and conference-high nine assists. The senior also has three goals on the year, including the game-winner against Alvernia. She is also currently tied with Lauri Hoober '91 for fifth-place all-time in the Messiah record books with 32 career assists.
Gehman is having what could be her best year as a Falcon, adding to her already stellar career as the offensive catalyst. This season, she is currently tied for second in all of NCAA Division III with 25 goals and third with 54 points. Career-wise, the senior needs 14 more goals to break the program-record of 111 held be Danae (Chambers) Hollenbach '05, and 14 points to move into second-place all-time in career points. The three-time NFHCA All-American has scored in all but two of the Falcons' games this year, including multiple goals in eight of 14.
The game is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 18 at Bellarmine University.
