WILKES-BARRES, Pa. - Messiah men's tennis completed two days at the MAC Individual Championships this weekend, with a host of strong performances.
Day Two
In No. 1 singles
Tim Dunn would drop the first set to FDU-Florham, but would go on to win the next two sets (6-4, 10-8). Unfortunately, Dunn would lose to Wilkes University in straight sets, 6-4, 6-2.
In No. 4 singles
Andrew Bookman defeated King's College in straight sets (6-2, 6-4) to advance to the semifinals. Bookman would go on to drop a tight contest to FDU-Florham, losing in straight sets (6-4, 6-4).
In No. 1 doubles
Tim Dunn and
Connor Graybeal would play in a very back-and-forth affair. Dunn and Graybeal started the match up 5-4, would tie it up 6-6 after Wilkes University went up 6-5, but would drop the contest 8-6.
Day One
With day one of the MAC Individual Championships over, the Falcons are already off to a hot start.
Tim Dunn and
Connor Graybeal defeated the Albright Lions 8-2 in the No. 1 doubles round one earlier this morning. Dunn and Graybeal then went on to defeat Hood College 8-2 in the quarterfinals. They await Ray McDermott and Worden Ly of Stevenson University tomorrow in the semifinals match.
In No. 2 doubles
Alex Mantsevich and
Andrew Bookman defeated King's College in a tight contest 9-7, and await Alex Kiblin and Andrew Ryan of Stevenson University tomorrow in the semifinals.
In No. 3 doubles
Keller Martin and
Galen Fitzkee handily beat Albright College 8-1, but dropped a close contest (9-7) against FDU-Florham.
In No. 1 singles
Tim Dunn cruised through the competition, beating Lebanon Valley College in straight sets (6-1, 6-1), and Albright College in straight sets (6-2, 6-2). Dunn will face Max Moscowitz of FDU-Florham in the No. 1 singles semifinal tomorrow.
In No. 2 singles
Connor Graybeal defeated DeSales University in in two straight sets (6-1, 6-0). Graybeal now will be pitted against Tyler Millan of King's College tomorrow in the semifinals.
