Amanda Jones and
Erin Cressman combined to go 4-6 at the plate and each collected two RBI to lead No. 3 Messiah to a 4-1 win over William Peace on Saturday afternoon.
Madelyn Yannetti went the distance for seven innings to collect the win. She allowed just four hits against three strikeouts.
Amanda Jones got things started for the Falcons in the bottom of the first inning with a single, and then she stole second. With
Erin Cressman at the plate, she delivered a hit up the middle that scored Jones from second base giving Messiah an early 1-0 lead.

Neither team managed to push across runs in the second inning but Messiah used a three-run third inning to increase their lead 4-1. With one out,
Carrie Fix singled and then
Samantha Esper reached on a error by the first baseman, with Fix advancing to third on the play.

Esper stole second and with runners on second and third,
Amanda Jones came up clutch with a single that scored both Fix and Esper giving the Falcons a 3-1 advantage. Cressman hit a double for her second hit of the game, and Jones crossed the plate extending Messiah's lead 4-1.

William Peace made some noise in the top of the fifth with a chance to score but Messiah got out of the inning unharmed as the Pacers left two runners on base. The Falcons had an opportunity to score more runs in the bottom of the sixth when
Amber Bingaman singled, advanced to second, and then
McKenzie Tebbs walked.
Emily Quatrale stepped up to the plate reaching on a fielder's choice but Bingaman was thrown out at third on the play ending the inning.

The Pacers managed to scrape across a run in the top of the seventh off one hit but Yannetti finished the game strong and that one run was all they would get. Messiah finished with six hits in the game and committed two errors on defense.
Messiah improved to 3-1 with the win and are back in action Mar. 8 when the travel to York College for a double-header contest. Game time is set for 2:30 p.m.
Game One – Messiah 1, Emory 2
No. 3 Messiah played No. 4 Emory on Saturday morning falling by a score of 2-1. The Eagles pushed across two runs late in the game, in the sixth and seventh inning to take the win.

The Falcons lone run came early in the game in the first inning when
Samantha Esper started things off with a single. She stole second and then
Amanda Jones hit a single advancing Esper to third. With runners on second and third, a wild pitch was thrown which scored Esper giving Messiah a 1-0 lead.

Messiah had small opportunities in the third and fourth to push runs across but stranded runners on base. Emory started to make some noise in the bottom of the sixth when they started the inning off with a double by Wilson. She advanced to third on a sacrifice bunt and then scored on a single by Turnquest.

The Falcons went down in order in the top of the seventh and then in the bottom of the inning, the Eagles hit a single, advanced the runner on a SAC bunt, and then scored on an RBI single by Hermann, thus giving them the 2-1 win.

Messiah had five hits and committed no errors on defense in the game.
