Grantham, PA - The Messiah College women's tennis program hosted the Hood College Blazers for their first home match of the spring season. The Falcons swept the Blazers and won all nine matches in this afternoon's contest.
Messiah didn't drop a game in doubles action.
Kelly Hopkins and
Carly Dove (No. 1 doubles) and
Emily Wichert and
Meagan Scala (No. 2) defeated their opponents 8-0.
Amanda Adams and
Robin Schwarzmann won by default.
In singles action, Messiah had a very impressive showing.
Kelly Hopkins (6-1, 6-2),
Carly Dove (6-1, 6-0),
Meagan Scala (6-1, 6-0),
Emily Wichert (6-1, 6-1) and
Amanda Adams (6-0, 6-0) all dominated their opponents.
Robin Schwarzmann also picked up a victory by default.
The Falcons are back in action Saturday, April 1 when they host Albright College. The match is scheduled to start at 1:00 p.m.
