Williamsport, PA – The Messiah College women's tennis team continues to remain undefeated within the MAC Commonwealth conference after picking up a 7-2 road victory over the Lycoming Warriors. The Falcons move to 7-5 overall and 5-0 in the conference after picking up their seventh-straight victory.
In doubles play, the Falcons won all three matches.
Carly Dove and
Sydney Schandel (8-5),
Meagan Scala and
Emily Wichert (8-6) and
Amanda Adams and
Robin Schwarzmann (8-5) were all tested but handled their opponents.
In singles action, the Falcons won four matches and dropped two to the Warriors.
Sydney Schandel (No. 2 singles) dominated and picked up a 6-2, 6-3 win.
Emily Wichert (No. 4) won 8-2,
Amanda Adams (No. 5) had an outstanding performance and won 6-1, 6-0, while
Gabby Brooks defeated her opponent 6-4, 6-0.
Carly Dove (No.1) was defeated 6-2, 6-2 and
Meagan Scala fell to her opponent 8-4.
The Falcons will be back in action on Apr. 22 when they host Lebanon Valley College at 1:00 p.m.
