WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - Messiah's women tennis team opened up their season with a 9-0 loss to the defending MAC Freedom champions this afternoon. Wilkes' victory improved their record to 1-0, and the Falcons' defeat dropped their overall record to 0-1.
Amanda and
Rebekah Adams battled hard in No. 3 doubles, but dropped the contest 8-4. In singles,
Kaitlyn Russell fell short in a tight match 8-5.
Amanda Adams continued her excellent play in her singles match, but lost 8-5.
Sarah Summerson contested her opponent, but lost 8-4.
The Falcons' next match is against York College on Sept. 23.
