Falcons Stumble Against Spartans

GRANTHAM, Pa. - Messiah women's tennis fought hard in their fall home opener on a hot Saturday afternoon, but fell to the York College Spartans by a score of 7-2.

Amanda Adams had the best day of the seven Falcons who competed, winning both matches that she participated in. In doubles, she teamed up with younger sister Rebekah Adams to defeat the Spartans' Jessica Sherman and Caroline Marderness by an 8-3 score. She followed that up with a 6-3, 6-1 performance in singles over York's Gina Liguori to earn the second and final point for the Falcons.

The Falcons are back on the court next Saturday, Sept. 30 when they travel to the University of Scranton.
