Women's Tennis Drops Close Contest to Scranton

SCRANTON, Pa. - Messiah women's tennis dropped a close contest to the University of Scranton earlier this afternoon, with a final decision of 6-3.

Amanda Adams had a big day for the Falcons. Adams contributed to a doubles win with teammate Gabby Brooks, winning by a narrow margin 8-6. Adams also won her singles match in two sets, winning 6-3 in the first set, and then 6-4 in the second. 

In singles, Carly Dove played in a tight opening set, losing 7-6, with a 7-2 tiebreaker. Emily Wichert also dropped her opening set 6-4, losing 6-4; and dropping the second set 6-3. 

The Falcons will keep swinging on Oct. 7 against Goucher College.
