ANNVILLE, Pa. - Two days after the Play-In match for the 2018 MAC Commonwealth Tournament, the Middle Atlantic Conference released the 2018 All-Conference teams and end-of-season awards. Three Falcons were honored with an All-Conference selection, including
Mary Underman (First Team All-MAC),
Amanda Dahlman (Second Team All-MAC), and
Payton Manwaring (Honorable Mention). All three Falcons played a key role in Messiah's success they season with Underman leading the attack, Dahlman helping lock down the defense, and Manwaring helping out on both ends.
Mary Underman earns her third-straight All-Conference honor after registering 221 kills with just 48 errors through 30 games and has recorded six matches with double-digit kills season. Underman currently leads the team with a .387 hitting percentage which also ranks her 10th in Division III in that category. Underman has played in all 30 matches this season, starting in 24 of them and has only sat out for 2 of the teams 104 sets. Underman is a threat up front as well, as she has been apart of 65 blocks, having recorded at least one block in 27 of the 30 games this year. Underman ranks fourth on the team in service aces as she has collected 21 thus far.
On the defensive side,
Amanda Dahlman has earned her second-straight All-Conference honor. As a freshmen, Dahlman collected 458 digs and recorded 32 aces which gave her an All-MAC Honorable Mention honor but this year, Dahlman has passed 1,000 digs as a sophomore, registering 559 this season while accumulating 36 service aces through the 30 matches the Falcons have played. As the team's libero, Dahlman has played in all 104 sets this season and is currently averaging 5.38 digs per set which puts her in the top-50 in Division III.
Payton Manwaring is earning her first All-Conference honor with an Honorable Mention accolade after registering 95 kills and helping on 30 blocks, putting her second on the team in that category. Manwaring holds a .267 hitting percentage this season and is averaging 1.51 kills per set.
