ANNVILLE, Pa. – After the conclusion after the 2018 MAC Commonwealth Championships, the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) announced its weekly award winners for events from Oct. 30 through Nov. 3, 2018. Messiah had three student-athletes among the recipients for this week.Â

Kezia Loht earned the award for MAC Commonwealth Player of the Week after being named the MAC Commonwealth Championship Most Valuable Player. Loht helped lead the Falcons to their 12th-straight conference title with a 6-0 win over Arcadia University. In the conference tournament, Loht played a big role in maintaining possession for the Falcons to help develop plays and she scored a goal against LVC in the semifinal round then assisted on the second goal of the final game this past Saturday.

Connor Bell was recognized for the MAC Commonwealth Player of the Week after being named the MAC Commonwealth Championship Most Valuable Player. Bell played in all 200 minutes of the conference championship tournament and recorded one save in the semifinal round and one in the championship game. Bell also game up big with a save in the penalty kick shootout against the Lycoming Warriors to help Messiah earn the title with a 4-1 advantage in the penalty kick shootout. Currently, Bell holds a .49 goals against average on the season.

Kayla Herr earns the MAC Commonwealth Player of the Week award after helping lock down the defense in the MAC Commonwealth Championship. Herr was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player after holding the Knights to just nine shots in the conference championship. Herr also helped Messiah's attacking pressure as she recorded five shots against the Knights in the 1-0 (2OT) victory.
