Louisville, KY - Messiah College junior
Erin Cressman was selected by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) as
one of 25 players for the Schutt Sports/NFCA Player of the Year award. The list originally release back in February included 50 players and will be reduced to 10 finalists when the All-Region teams are announced later this month.Â
Cressman has had a strong junior season as she currently leads the team in batting average (.424) RBI's (34), slugging percentage (.818), walks (39), and home runs (9). She broke the all-time career record for home runs earlier this season and just a few weeks ago sent a new record for walks in a single season. Cressman is also leading the conference in multiple statistical categories including runs scored (44), and RBI's (34) and was a First Team All-MAC Commonwealth selection in 2017, as well as First Team NFCA All-Region.Â
Cressman will look to lead the Falcons to another NCAA Tournament berth when they compete for the MAC Commonwealth Championship Apr. 4-6 in Annville, Pa.

The 25Â players listed were identified as part of a collaborate effort between the NFCA's NCAA Division III head coaches and the All-America committees.Â
