Messiah Places Seventh at Rosemont Invitational

HONEY BROOK, Pa. - The Messiah College men's golf team finished seventh after competing in the two-day Rosemont Raven Invitational this weekend. After a solid first-round team score of 312 ( 32), the Falcons struggled in their second round and shot 349 which led them to an overall score of 661. York College won the two-day tournament with a team score of 608.

Round One
Nic Mourelatos led Messiah with a season-best round of 75 and is sitting at t-16th going into round two. Ryan Kirk carded a 78 for Messiah, while Bryce Watkins scored a 79 after 18-holes. Josh Hagwell finished with an 81 to help lead the Falcons to a fifth place rank.

Round Two
Ryan Kirk led Messiah in their second day on the Honey Brook course by shooting an 82. Nic Mourelatos was just three-strokes behind Kirk and finished the day with an 85, while Bryce Watkins carded a 90. Daniel Wright shot a 92 to complete the Falcon team scoring on day-two, while Josh Hawgell collected a 93.

The Falcons will be back in action on Tuesday, Apr. 17 when they travel down the road to the Gettysburg Invitational at the Hanover Country Club. Tee times are scheduled for 12:30 p.m.
