ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Messiah men's tennis team is one day away from hosting the MAC Commonwealth Championship against
No. 3 Lebanon Valley, and today they were honored with a program-record of seven All-MAC Commonwealth awards.
Tim Dunn led the way with the Player of the Year honor for the second-straight year, and
Galen Fitzkee was named Rookie of the Year after an impressive first season with the Falcons. Once again,
Jon Arosell was named Coach of the Year for his great leadership with this men's program.
Connor Graybeal joined teammates Dunn and Fitzkee with First Team recognition, while
Bryson Boettger and
Alex Mantsevich picked up Second Team honors.
Andrew Bookman was named Honorable Mention after a solid rookie season.
The Coach of the Year award is the fifth-straight for Arosell, who has led the Falcons to a perfect 7-0 record within the conference. In his seventh year at the helm, he will look to secure the program's fifth-straight title against No. 3-seeded Lebanon Valley in the championship match on Saturday.
Tim Dunn competed as the Falcons No. 1 singles player and collected a 9-2 overall record this season, including a 6-0 record in the MAC Commonwealth during regular season play. In doubles action, Dunn and
Connor Graybeal were dominant held a 6-0 record in the conference. Dunn received Player of the Year recognition as well as First Team All-MAC Commonwealth for the second consecutive year.
Galen Fitzkee had an incredible season for the Falcons in which he received Rookie of the Year and First Team honors. Fitzkee finished the regular season with a 9-3 record and is ranked sixth overall in the MAC Commonwealth. In conference action, Fitzkee and partner
Keller Martin have maintained a 5-2 record this spring.
Connor Graybeal received First Team All-MAC Commonwealth for his solid performance this season. Graybeal has had a dominant performance in doubles action this spring and he has remained undefeated in MAC Commonwealth play (7-0) in the No. 1 doubles slot. Graybeal and Dunn are ranked fifth in the conference for doubles with an overall record of 11-4.
Bryson Boettger received his first conference award of his career after being named to the Second Team. Boetteger traditionally plays in the No. 6 singles position for Messiah and he has gone 6-1 in regular season conference matches this spring.
Alex Mantsevich was named to the Second Team after his steady performance in both singles and doubles play. In conference action, Mantesevich picked up a 6-1 record in singles and doubles.
Andrew Bookman received Honorable Mention in first season with the Falcons. In the regular season, Bookman went undefeated (7-0) in MAC Commonwealth singles play and he and Mantsevich only dropped one match (6-1) in conference doubles action.
