Falcons Earn Two Wins To Close Out The Battlefield Classic

XML Box Score GETTYSBURG, Pa. – The Falcons improved to 3-1 on the season after securing a 3-1 (20-25, 25-13, 25-19, 25-22) over Lancaster Bible College and edging Dickinson College 3-2 (26-28, 25-18, 22-25, 25-23, 15-12) in five sets. The Falcons will travel to Frederick, Md. to open up conference play against the Hood Blazers on Sept. 5th at 7:00 p.m.

Kate Wilcox led the way for the Falcons as she dished out 22 assists while Heston Cowoski chimed in 13 of her own to set up the squad's big hitters. The Falcons tallied 46 kills over the four sets this morning with 16 of them coming from outside hitter, Kate Preudhomme, who recorded a .344 hitting percentage. Messiah was also aided on the attack with eight kills from Lanae Hunsberger and six from Braedyn Gallagher
 
The Falcons certainly put up a strong defensive effort, recording 88 digs as a team against the Chargers. Leading the way for the Falcons' defense was sophomore libero, Amanda Dahlman, who collected 24 digs with Gallagher following closely behind with 21.

The Falcons' Kate Wilcox shined again as she collected a double-double against the Red Devils, dishing out 24 assists and 13 digs. Mary Underman accumulated 10 kills for the Falcons and put up a .300 hitting percentage. As a team, Messiah had 92 digs and 44 kills, helping the Falcons outplay their opponents and secure the win in this afternoon's matchup against the Red Devils.
 
Performance To Highlight
Mary Underman was selected All-Tournament at the conclusion of the Battlefield Classic. The selection comes after Underman recorded a total of 28 kills, six aces, and was apart of 11 total blocks through the four games this weekend.
