Falcons Fall on the Road Against Arcadia

GLENSIDE, Pa. - The Falcons suffered a 3-0 (25-21, 28-26, 25-15) loss on the road against the Arcadia Knights. Messiah collected 30 kills overall and registered 45 digs on the night. Kate Preudhomme, Mary Underman, and Hannah Berger all accumulated six of their own kills while Amanda Dahlman led the defense with 19 digs

How It Happened
The Falcons went down 4-0 in the first set and never quite recovered as the Knights held the advantage, allowing Messiah to pull within one point on a few occasions. The attack was quiet for the Falcons in the first set as they collected just seven kills against the Knights' 12.

The second set highlighted Messiah's night as they started the set on top 3-0 and stretched their lead to 13-6 before forcing the Knights to take a timeout. By the time the Falcons had scored 20 points, the Knights were only at 13 but a late charge from Arcadia would close the gap. Messiah held the lead at 24-18 but the Knights continued to fight back into the game. Utilizing errors on the Falcons and a strong attack, the Knights would eventually win the set 28-26. Messiah's attack was led by Hannah Berger and Mary Underman in this second set, both Falcons collecting four kills each while Kate Preudhomme chimed in with three of her own.

In the third set, a kill from Katie Wilcox started the Falcons up 1-0 but heavy pressure from the Knights held off Messiah once again. The Falcons fought their way to a 10-7 score in favor of the Knights but that would be as close as they would get before Arcadia pulled away, winning the final set 25-15.
