GRANTHAM, Pa. - The Messiah women's tennis team fell to the University of Scranton 9-0 on Saturday afternoon. Messiah's best performances came from the No. 4 and 5 singles matches, while 
Rachel Marcroft and 
Kaylie Ryder led the way with the best performance in doubles play. This loss marks the end of the fall half of Messiah's schedule.
Despite a dominant 3-0 sweep by the Royals in doubles play, the duo of 
Rachel Marcroft and 
Kaylie Ryder were able to win two games in an 8-2 defeat.
At No. 4 singles, 
Heather Schmidt claimed a pair of games in both sets, but fell 6-2, 6-2 to Scranton's Emily Kelly. 
Hannah Kapchinske took three games in set one of the No. 5 singles match before ultimately falling 6-3, 6-0 to Tatiana Klacko.
With the fall portion of their season coming to an end, the Falcons will return to the courts over spring break in March of 2020.
