LEXINGTON, Ky. – For the second time in her career as a Falcon, senior
Mary Underman was recognized by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) as an Honorable Mention All-American. Underman had a phenomenal senior season for Messiah, as she helped the Falcons to a 25-7 overall record with a 6-2 mark in the MAC Commonwealth.
Underman recorded a career high 348 kills this season while also hitting an impressive .390. She recorded 76 blocks up front for the Falcons, which was second best on the team. Underman recorded her 1,000 career kill in their match with Alvernia University on Oct. 15 in Hitchcock Arena while her 1,114 kills notch her fifth in program history in career kills. Underman also set the program record this season for career block assists with 303, beating out Lindsay King's previous record of 297.
Underman was named First Team All-Region last week and has recorded a long list of accolades in her career that go as follows:

In her final career game as a Falcon on Nov. 6 at Arcadia University in the MAC Commonwealth tournament semifinals, Underman hit .536 with 17 kills while also recording three aces. In her four years at Messiah, Underman helped lead the Falcons to an 80-48 overall record. Those Falcon teams made it to the MAC Commonwealth championship game, the semifinals twice, and the play in game.
