Stellar Start
The Falcons used a strong effort from start to finish to claim their first victory of the season, but it was a commanding start to the game that quickly put the contest out of reach. Messiah scored the first seven goals of the game before Lycoming got on the board with just under eight and a half minutes remaining in the half.

During the opening stretch, Wadsworth and Bishop scored twice and Joanna King assisted on two tallies to fuel the offense. After Lycoming's Erika Boyer scored with 8:24 left in the half, Messiah ripped off nine-straight goals to take a commanding 16-1 lead with 18:39 remaining in regulation.

Running Clock
With the clock running for the entirety of the second-half, Messiah managed to score 10 goals after the break, including the final five of their nine-goal streak. The Falcons tallied those 10 goals on just 13 shots. Lycoming did manage to take advantage of some more opportunities after the break with Kelly McGinniss striking for three goals in the final 18 minutes of play.
