HILTON HEAD, S.C. - The Messiah men's tennis team completed their spring break trip to Hilton Head, S.C. with a 9-0 loss to the Macalester College Scots on Friday morning. Messiah will return to central Pennsylvania for their next match on Wednesday, Mar. 27 when they travel to Juniata to take on the Eagles at 4:00 p.m.

How It Happened
The Falcons fell into a 3-0 hole after the Scots took all three doubles matches. The Messiah team of Galen Fitzkee and Andrew Bookman put up the best challenge against the Scots in the top doubles match, forcing a tiebreaker, before ultimately falling 8-7 (1) in the match.

In singles play, it was Bookman again keeping things close on court three. He and Macalester's Karsten Knutsen went toe-to-toe, before Knutsen earned a 7-6 (6), 6-4 victory. Jarod Snader claimed five games in the No. 5 singles match, but fell 6-3, 6-2 against Peter Willenburg.

In the other four singles matches, Macalester dropped three games or less to earn the 9-0 victory.

Messiah went 1-3 during their week in Hilton Head and will now turn their attention to the Juniata Eagles. Messiah will travel to Juniata on Wednesday to take on the Eagles at 4:00 p.m. Conference matches will begin for the Falcons next Saturday when they travel to Alvernia at 1:00 p.m. on Mar. 30.
