GRANTHAM, Pa. - The Messiah College men's tennis team bounced back on Wednesday afternoon when they hosted the Hood College Blazers. The Falcons swept the Blazers in both singles and doubles action to pick up their third 9-0 sweep of the season. Messiah moves to 6-9 overall and 4-1 in the MAC Commonwealth.
How It Happened
In doubles action,
Jarod Snader and
AJ Swanson got things started for Messiah with an 8-1 win over their opponents. At the No. 1 spot,
Galen Fitzkee and
Andrew Bookman dropped two early games, but battled back to close out their match 8-2.
Cody Fitzwater and
Luke Feczko secured a win by default in the No. 3 slot.Â
The Falcons continued to dominate in the singles action, picking up six-straight wins. No. 6
Luke Feczko won by default, while
Cody Fitzwater,
Bryson Boettger, and
Galen Fitzkee all defeated their opponents without dropping a game (6-0, 6-0). No. 2
Alex Mantsevich also found success winning his match 6-1, 6-1 and No. 4
AJ Swanson battled to claim a 6-2, 7-5 victory to give Messiah a clean sweep.

Messiah will return to their home court on Saturday, Apr. 27 to take on Lebanon Valley College in their final regular season match. Both the men's and women's teams will be hosting, with the match time set at 1:00 p.m.
