GRANTHAM, Pa. - The Falcons came out swinging in game one against McDaniel College in their final non-conference doubleheader of the season. Messiah earned six runs in the first inning, highlighted by a three-run home run from
Madelyn Yannetti. Messiah added two more in the third to take an 8-0 lead but McDaniel earned one in the top of the fifth to try to stop the mercy rule.
Jaelynn Harbold came up to bat in the bottom of the fifth inning and hit her first home run of the season over the left center field wall to end the game 9-1 over the Green Terror.
In game two, the Falcons struck first but the Green Terror battled to gain their first lead of the day in the top of the third inning. Messiah answered right back, taking a 4-3 lead in the bottom of the third but McDaniel had an answer again as they tallied two runs in the top of the fourth to regain the lead. Messiah responded with four runs in the bottom of the fourth and added two more in the fifth to defeat the Green Terror 10-5. The Falcons finished the game with 17 hits with
Ashley Carroll going 4-for-5 and
Jaelynn Harbold recording three RBI off of two hits.
Messiah Defeats McDaniel 9-1
After stranding a runner in the top of the first, the Falcons put up six runs off of five hits in the bottom of the first inning.
Ashley Carroll started the inning with a walk and stole second on the next play.
Haylee Anders laid down a sacrifice bunt to move Carroll to third. Later,
McKenzie Tebbs struck out swinging, giving the Falcons their second out of the inning. After
Isabel Seise walked, she attempted to grab an extra base while
Ashley Carroll made her way home and was safe on the throw back at first. With a 1-0 lead,
Jaelynn Harbold kept the two-out rally going, bringing home Seise with a single to left center.
Kara Birosak singled up the middle and moved Harbold over to second, putting two runners on base with
Madelyn Yannetti stepping up to bat. Yannetti didn't disappoint as she hit a three-run bomb over the left field fence that brought a pitching change for the Green Terror and gave the Falcons a 5-0 lead.
Elena Rosas got on base with a single up the middle and was later brought home after
Rianna Trexler hit a double to right center, giving the Falcons a 6-0 lead.Â
The Falcons added two more to their lead in the bottom of the third.
Madelyn Yannetti started the inning with a single to second base.

Rianna Trexler doubled to left center to bring both runners in and give the Falcons a 8-0 lead.Â
The Green Terror answered with a run of their own in the top of the fifth. After a triple to right center, a single up the middle brought in their lone run of the day.
To force a mercy rule ending,
Jaelynn Harbold hit her first home run of her career to give Messiah a 9-1 victory over McDaniel.Â
Messiah Defeats McDaniel 10-5
Game two proved to be much more of a battle between the Falcons and Green Terror. Messiah struck first with an RBI single from
Jaelynn Harbold and an RBI single down the left field line from
Kara Birosak to take a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first.Â
After a scoreless second inning from both teams, the Green Terror battled for their first lead of the day in the top of the third. McDaniel utilized a double to right center to bring in their first run and later brought in two unearned runs after an error by the Falcons.
Messiah didn't waste any time as they regained the lead in the bottom of the third.
Isabel Seise opened up the inning with a double to center field. Seise later scored after
Elena Rosas hit a double to tie the game 3-3.
Rianna Trexler hit a sacrifice fly that brought home the go ahead run.Â
McDaniel didn't slow down after the Falcons regained the lead. In the top of the fourth inning, the Green Terror rallied with two outs as they hit an RBI single to bring in the equalizer and later hit an RBI double to left center to take a 5-4 lead.Â
Messiah put their self back on top in the bottom of the fourth in the back and forth battle.

Haylee Anders as the Falcons took the 6-5 lead. A two-RBI double down the left field line from
McKenzie Tebbs brought home
Kyra Bond and
Jaelynn Harbold to give Messiah the 8-5 lead.
In the bottom of the fifth inning, Messiah recorded two more runs with Harbold bringing home Carroll and Seise bringing home Anders, giving the Falcons the 10-5 lead and eventual victory over the Green Terror.
