Falcons Have Solid Day at Franklin and Marshall

LANCASTER, Pa. - Messiah showed well at the Coach I Open hosted by the Franklin and Marshall Diplomats. Nate Romberger took sixth place in the 3,000m with a time of 8:58.47. Freshman Logan Horst finished in 11th with a time of 9:20.30. Freshman Josiah Zehr set a personal best in the 60m hurdles, running a time of 9.15 seconds to lead the way for Messiah in the event with a 18th place finish. Chris Muchimba ran the 60m dash in 7.45 seconds to finish in 17th place. Muchimba also ran the 200m, finishing with a time of 24.28 seconds. In the 800m, Ryan Thurber ran a 2:05.03 to take 12th place. Alex Scheib highlighted his day with a sixth place finish in the mile, coming through the finish line in 4:31.92.

In The Results
As mentioned, the Falcons were led by Nate Romberger (8:58.47) and Logan Horst (9:20.30) in the 3,000m as the duo finished in sixth and 11th, respectively. Freshman Josiah Moyer finished in 14th place in the event, finishing in 9:23.61. Ryan Thurber led the way for Messiah in the 800m, coming through the line in 2:05.03. Isaac Covert finished in 2:06.58 to finish in 18th place.

In the 60m hurdles, freshman Josiah Zehr led the way for the Falcons with a personal best time of 9.15 seconds. Joel Rhinehart and Andrew Schott also competed, running 9.73 and 10.05, respectively. 

In the 60m, Chris Muchimba finished in 17th place with a time of 7.42 seconds. Muchimba also competed in the 200m, finishing with a time of 24.28 seconds.

The Falcons 4x200m relay team of Chris Muchimba, Josiah Provan, Joel Rhinehart, and Caleb Christner finished in 10th place with a time of 1:39.94.

In the mile, Alex Scheib finished in sixth place with a time of 4:31.92. Jack Franceschina and Andrew Hutchinson were the next Falcons to cross the finish line, finishing in 4:45.77 and 4:49.24 to take 26th and 30th place.

Connor Daudt led the way for the Falcons in the 400m, completing the event in 55.05 seconds. The Falcons' distance medley relay team of James Sahakian, Arik Hostetler, Jack Daudt, and Ryan McAllister finished in 13th place with a time of 12:02.47. Messiah's 4x400m relay team of Ryan Thurber, Cassidy Hoffman, Alex Scheib, and Josiah Zehr finished in 11th place with a time of 3:41.98.

Zachary Zigarelli finished the weight throw with a mark of 11.39m. In the shot put, Spenser Castle and Ian Mcllrath both hit a mark of 10.02m.

In the high jump, Andrew Schott cleared 1.70m to finish in 10th place. Josiah Provan also competed in th event, clearing 1.60m.

Freshman Josiah Zehr set a new personal best in the pole vault, clearing 4.42m on his first attempt, putting him fifth all-time on the Falcons' indoor top-ten list.
