4x200m Relay Record Set at Franklin and Marshall

LANCASTER, Pa. - The Falcons had a solid day at the Franklin and Marshall Coach I Open. Kathryn Wiederrecht took second in the 60m dash with a time of 8.13 seconds. Wiederrecht also ran the opening leg of the Falcons new program record 4x200m relay with Ellie Longshaw, Julia Geisheimer, and Ellissa Slader combining for a time of 1:47.90 to take second in the event. Esther Seeland won the 400m with a time of 59.56 seconds while Ellissa Slader finished in second place with a time of 1:00.47. Seeland's time puts her third all-time in program history.

In The Results
Most notably, the Falcons highlighted their day in the relays, setting a new program record in the 4x200m relay with the team of Kathryn Wiederrecht, Ellie Longshaw, Julia Geisheimer, and Ellissa Slader combining to run a time of 1:47.90. Geisheimer also led the way for the Falcons in the open 200m, coming through the finish line in 28.44 seconds to finish in 10th place. The 4x400m relay team didn't set the program record just yet but the squad of Ellisa Slader, Leanne Weaver, Esther Seeland, and Taylor Wiederrecht stormed around the track in 4:02.61 which ranks them as the sixth best 4x400m relay team in the country. Seeland won the 400m with a time of 59.56 seconds while Slader finished in second place with a time of 1:00.47. Leanne Weaver also threw down a second-best program mark in the 3,000m, running 10:23.58 to take second place in the event. 

Also in the 3,000m, Sarah Codd (11:07.69), Cera Gaston (11:11.35) and Teddi Powell (11:16.61) put up top-ten finishes, coming in seventh, eighth, and 10th, respectively. In the 60m hurdles, Kathryn Wiederrecht led the way for the Falcons, earning a seventh place finish with a time of 9.82 seconds. Wiederrecht also shined for Messiah in the 60m dash, taking second with a time of 8.13 seconds. 

Amber Fogelsanger led the way for Messiah in the 800m, coming through the line in 2:36.38 while teammates Madison Myers and Sarah Blessing finished in 2:39.20 and 2:39.50, respectively. Chloe Wester led the way for the Falcons in the mile, running a 5:38.99 to finish in 12th place. 

The distance medley relay team of Ashlyn Stonge, Mikayla Lewin, Olivia Cory, and Connor Coggins finished in seventh place with a time of 13:45.91.

In the weight throw, Amanda Brown threw 10.09m to finish the day in 10th place. Lila Goodhile finished the day in 13th place in shot put with a throw of 10.55m.

In the long jump, Taylor Wiederrecht finished in seventh place with a jump of 5.02m. Wiederrecht also cleared 1.49m in the high jump to take fifth place. Emily Gourley also cleared 1.49m in the high jump but finished in 10th by virtue of attempts.

The Falcons will travel to New York, NY for the NYC Division III Invitational at The Armory on Jan. 31, getting the day started at 1:00 p.m.
