Falcons Finish in 16th at NYC DIII Invite

NEW YORK, N.Y. - The Falcons traveled to The Armory in New York City to compete in the NYC DIII Invitational. Nate Romberger highlighted the Falcons' efforts with a second place finish in the 5,000m, crossing the line in 15:44.38. Josiah Zehr also showed well for Messiah, earning a fourth place finish in the pole vault with a jump of 4.26m.

In The Results
The Falcons had a trio of Falcons compete in the 60m hurdles with Andrew Schott leading the pack. Schott finished the event in 9.10 seconds, good for 19th place. Josiah Zehr took 24th with a time of 9.33 seconds while Joel Rhinehart finished in 29th with a 9.56. Schott also competed in the high jump, clearing 1.78m to take eighth place. Zehr finished pole vault in fourth place with a 4.26wm jump.

Alex Scheib led the way for Messiah in the 800m, running a 1:59.78 to finish in 15th place. Cassidy Hoffman came across the line in 2:03.76 while teammate Ryan Thurber finished in 2:05.22. 

In the mile, Isaac Covert finished in 43rd place with a time of 4:41.51. Chad Long was the next Falcon to cross the line, coming through in 4:45.33. Sam Rasinske closed out Messiah's efforts in the event with a 5:04.29.

As mentioned, Nate Romberger led the way for Messiah in the 5,000m, finishing in second place with a time of 9:12.55. Andrew Hutchinson came through the line in 16:38.13 to take 16th place. In the 3,000m, Logan Horst and Josiah Moyer finished in 9:12.55 and 9:15.02, respectively. 

What's Up Next
The Falcons are back in action on Feb. 8 at the Frank Colden Invitational, hosted by Ursinus College.
