Frederick, Md. - The Messiah women's volleyball team earned a convincing 3-0 (25-22, 25-17, 25-21) win over conference opponent Hood late Tuesday night. Mackenzie Feight led the team in kills with 13 while Kristen Seibert had a strong night with 43 assists and 12 digs. The win moves their record to 13-8 overall and 4-2 in the conference. 

Messiah defeats Hood 3-0
Messiah took down Hood College on Tuesday night winning 3-0 (25-22, 25-17, 25-21). The first set was well contested with Hood pulling away late for a 21-18 lead after being down by three points. Messiah then won seven of the next eight points to claim the first set 25-22.

In the second set, Messiah quickly jumped out to a commanding 14-3 lead that Hood could not overcome. Messiah won this set 25-17.  The third set was more competitive as Messiah held a four point lead at 18-14. Hood won five straight points to take the lead 19-18 but then Messiah rattled off the next five straight points. The teams traded points until Messiah won the third and final set 25-21.

Stats
Mackenzie Feight led the team in kills with 13 while Caitlin Lielbriedis and Chayney Barnhart each added nine kills on the night. Amanda Dahlman had a team high 18 digs and also added two assists.

Kristen Seibert recorded 43 assists and also tallied 12 digs on the evening. Rachel Garratt had two service aces and Chayney Barnhart added three blocks on the night.

The Falcons record moves to 13-8 overall with a 4-2 conference mark. They are next in action on October 15, when they take on Scranton at home in Hitchcock Arena. The match starts at 7:00 PM.
