ANNVILLE, Pa. - Earlier this week the Middle Atlantic Conference announced their weekly award winners for the week ending on Mar. 7. Among the 28 student-athletes honored by the Conference were a trio of Messiah Falcons.
Owen Hanzelman earned MAC Men's Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week as the Falcons went 3-0,
Rachel Delate picked up MAC Commonwealth Offensive Player of the Week honors after having a hand in nine of Messiah's 18 goals in an 18-1 victory over Lycoming, and
Andrew Leeper earned Men's Swimmer of the Week after a successful day in the pool on Saturday.
Women's Lacrosse - MAC Commonwealth Offensive Player of the Week
Rachel Delate was a part of half the Falcons scoring in an 18-1 season-opening win over Lycoming. Delate scored six goals on eight shots and added three assists. The sophomore also tallied five draw controls, five ground balls and caused two turnovers for a complete performance.

Men's Volleyball - MAC Defensive Player of the Week
Owen Hanzelman helped the Falcons to their second-straight 3-0 week from the libero position as the Falcons moved to 6-0 on the season. Hanzelman collected at least 10 digs in all three matches as Messiah swept Misericordia and defeated Widener 3-1. Hanzelman averaged 3.7 digs/set during the 10 sets this week.
Men's Swimming - MAC Swimmer of the Week
Andrew Leeper helped the Falcons to a second-place team finish at the MAC Virtual Relays. Leeper recorded 100 of Messiah's 188 points. The senior helped the Falcons to four top-three relay finishes, including the 200-yard medley relay (2nd - 1:42.55), 3x50-yard butterfly relay (3rd - 1:16.00), 3x50-yard backstroke relay (2nd - 1:20.22), and 400-yard medley relay (3rd - 4:03.00).
