GRANTHAM, Pa. - The Messiah women's volleyball team opened up their Saturday tri-match with a dominating performance over the Gettysburg Bullets and a solid win against the Lynchburg Hornets. The Falcons earned a 3-0 (25-11, 25-18, 25-23) victory against Gettysburg and followed it up with a 3-1 (25-21, 23-25, 25-19, 25-19) win against Lynchburg.
Mackenzie Feight had a combined 39 kills on the day to go along with 22 digs.
Kristen Seibert had 82 assists on the day while
Amanda Dahlman had 36 digs combined. The Falcons are back in action on Tuesday, Sept. 14 when they travel to Widener.
Messiah defeats Gettysburg 3-0
Messiah beat Gettysburg 3-0 (25-11, 25-18, 25-23) to start the day on Saturday. Messiah hit north of .400 in both of the first two sets, finishing the match with a .304 hitting percentage. The Falcons were great from the service line as well, picking up 12 service aces.
Mackenzie Feight and
Rachel Rashford both tallied double-digit kills with 13 and 11, respectively. Feight also collected 10 digs for a double-double.
Amanda Dahlman collected 11 digs while
Kristen Seibert ended Match One with 32 assists, four aces, and seven digs.
Messiah defeats Lynchburg, 3-1
The Falcons picked up their second win on the afternoon, beating Lynchburg 3-1 (25-21,23-25, 25-19, 25-19).
Mackenzie Feight dominated in the match, having 26 kills while adding on 12 digs.
Tatum Oakley also chipped in with 11 kills, and
Caitlin Lielbriedis tallied nine in the match.
Kristen Seibert had 50 of the team's 55 assists and also had two service aces with seven digs.
Amanda Dahlman led the team with 25 digs and had three assists.
The Falcons picked up nine service aces in the match, along with six block assists.

The Falcons moved to 5-2 on the year with the pair on wins today. Messiah is back in action on Tuesday, Sept. 14, when they face conference opponent Widener on the road.
