Chase Wilson,
Josh Gingerich and
AJ Swanson all fell short in their semifinal matches on Sunday. Messiah is back in action next Saturday, September 25 when they travel to Gettysburg to face the Bullets.
Sunday
In the No. 3 singles bracket,
Chase Wilson fell to top seeded Sebastion Wroe of Stevens 6-3, 6-2 in the semifinals, ending his run on Sunday. As a freshman, Wilson played well in his first MAC Individuals Tournament appearance.
In the No. 6 singles bracket,
Josh Gingerich also fell to the top seed from Stevens, Eloi Pradier. Pradier won the semifinal match 6-1, 6-1 to end Gingerich's run in his first MAC Individuals Tournament appearance.
In the No. 7 singles bracket,
AJ Swanson dropped a tough semifinal match to Simeon Smith of Stevenson 6-0, 6-4.

Saturday
Wilkes-Barre, Pa - The Falcons competed at the MAC Individuals Tournament on Saturday, Sept 18, playing doubles in the late morning and singles in the afternoon. With wet conditions in the morning postponing play, the tournament resorted to fast-fours for the singles matches, with sets being played to four.
Three Falcons advanced into semifinal matches slated for Sunday.
Chase Wilson (3),
Josh Gingerich (6) and
AJ Swanson (7) all won in singles play and earned their spots in the semifinals.
Doubles
The Falcons played well in their opening matchups, winning the first-round but losing in the second-round. In the No. 1 bracket,
Jarod Snader and
Jonathan Baker beat Hood easily 8-2, but lost by an identical score of 8-2 in the quarterfinal matchup against number one seed Stevens 8-2.
In the No. 2 bracket,
Connor Rose and
Chase Wilson won against FDU-Florham 8-3 but as well lost to the number one seeded team of Stevens 8-2 in the quarterfinals.
Playing at No. 3 doubles was
Michael Sell and
Carl Anderson. They easily took down Lycoming 8-1 to set up a quarterfinal matchup with LVC. Sell and Anderson kept it close but lost 5-8.
With only eight teams in the No. 4 doubles bracket, the first round was the quarterfinals.
AJ Swanson and
Andrew Stapp cruised into the semifinals winning 8-1 against Arcadia. In the semifinals, they dropped a close match to Stevens 8-5.
Singles
With rain in the morning, all singles matches were played to four due to timing constraints.
At No. 1,
Jarod Snader beat Ben Deleo of Hood 4-1, 4-2 in his first-round match. Snader then got a quarterfinal showdown with Ben Porto of Stevenson. Porto won in straight sets 4-1, 4-0.
At No. 2,
Connor Rose who is no stranger to marathon matches, won a thriller in his first-round matchup against Luke Berger 2-4, 4-3(5), (11-9). Rose then drew the second seeded Zachary Puccia in his quarterfinal matchup. Puccia won in straight sets 4-0, 4-1.
At No. 3,
Chase Wilson dominated his first-round match against Luke Leach of Lycoming 4-0, 4-0. Adam Warren of LVC gave Wilson a run in the first set of their quarterfinal matchup, but Wilson prevailed and found his game in the second set and won 4-3(7), 4-0. Wilson has a semifinal date with the number one seeded Sebastian Wroe of Stevens on Sunday.
At No. 4,
Jonathan Baker played well in his first-round match against Peyton Argot of Misericordia and won 4-2, 4-0. Baker then dropped his quarterfinal match to Brady McLucas 0-4, 1-4.
At No. 5,
Michael Sell played a close first set against the two seeded Ronald Duval II of FDU-Florham, but Duvall II proved to be too much for Sell, winning in straight sets 4-3(1), 4-0.
At. No. 6,
Josh Gingerich prevailed in a three-set battle with Jacob Nelson of King's 3-4(5), 4-1, (10-8) in the first-round. Gingerich then took down his quarterfinal opponent Dylan Gettier of Stevenson 4-3(2), 4-2 to claim a semifinal berth on Sunday. He will face the number one seeded Eloi Pradier of Stevens.
At No. 7,
AJ Swanson dominated against Alvernia's Dylan Boltz 4-0, 4-0 in the first round. Swanson won his quarterfinal matchup 4-1, 4-2 against Zachary Marshall of DeSales. Swanson will face Simeon Smith from Stevenson on Sunday.
