ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) announced its weekly awards for the week ending on Sept. 19 as Makayla Malcolm (field hockey) and Amanda Dahlman (women's volleyball) claimed MAC Commonwealth Offensive Player of the Week and MAC Commonwealth Defensive Player of the Week, respectively. Malcolm earned the conference accolade after tallying four goals in the first half of an 8-0 road victory at Juniata College last Wednesday, Sept. 15. Dahlman, who earned All-Tournament Team at the Neumann Tournament over the weekend, totaled 51 digs across four matches last week, helping the Falcons to an even 2-2 record on the week.

The four-goal outburst from Malcolm upped her season-total in goals to five, a team-high mark. Malcolm had four shots on goal, converting all four efforts, becoming just the tenth player in program history to score at least four goals in a single game.

With Malcolm's Offensive Player of the Week Award, Messiah field hockey has now earned MAC Commonwealth weekly awards in consecutive weeks as Catie Brubaker was named Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending on Sept. 12.

Dahlman's defensive efforts were put on display in all four of Messiah's matches last week, highlighted by a 16-dig performance, pushing the Falcons over the top in a tightly-contested 3-2 victory against Cabrini University on Saturday. Dahlman is ranked third in the MAC Commonwealth with a team-high 178 digs, registering 4.34 digs per set.

Messiah women's volleyball earns its first MAC Commonwealth Player of the Week this season with Dahlman's accolade.
