Women's Cross Country Finishes Fifth in MAC Championhips

ANNVILLE, PA. - The Messiah women's cross country team placed fifth out of the 16 teams that competed this weekend in the MAC Championships. Katie Anthony was the highest placed Falcon in 27th overall with Ali Schutte narrowly behind in 28th place for both Anthony and Schutte to earn Third Team honors. The Falcons put up 158 total points which was behind Widener (40), Misericordia (101), DeSales (119) and Lebanon Valley (142).

The NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regionals is up next on November 12, in Lock Haven, Pa.

Action
Messiah totaled 158 points with two top 30 finishes and five top 40 finishes in the 6k. Katie Anthony finished 27th with a time of 24:14.3 with Ali Schutte shortly behind in 28th with a time of 24:15.2. Connor Coggins was the third highest finisher for Messiah with a time of 24:20.0, good enough for 33rd overall. Teddi Powell finished 35th (24:29.8) while Amber Swaisgood rounded out the top 5 for Messiah finishing in 38th (24:43.1). All-in-all, Messiah finished fifth out of the 16 teams competing this weekend in the MAC Championships.
