GRANTHAM, PA - Messiah Women's basketball beat LVC on Wednesday night by a score of 67-46.
Leah Springer led all scorers with 24 on the night. The win brings the Falcons record to 17-2 and an 11-1 conference mark.
Messiah will host Stevenson on February 9, at 6:00 PM on Jordan Court in Hitchcock Arena.
First Quarter, Messiah leads 20-6
Messiah jumped out to a quick 9-2 lead which prompted an LVC timeout early in the first quarter. The Falcons kept dominating in the quarter, leading after one 20-6. Messiah shot over 66% from the field while the Dutchmen shot just 20%.
Morgan Adams led Messiah with four points while
Megan Zimmerman was next with three. It was also a quarter that saw nine different scorers for the Falcons.
Second Quarter, Messiah leads 38-21
LVC found some rhythm in the first four minutes of the second quarter, scoring seven points in the span of 3:27, more than double of their first quarter output. However, Messiah would keep pace with the Dutchmen, leading 31-13 with five to go in the second. After trading points, Messiah would lead at the half 38-21.Going into the half, Messiah was shooting 50% from the floor while LVC shot 34%. Messiah out-rebounded LVC 23-10 in the half as well.
Leah Springer led all scorers with nine points with Zimmerman right behind at eight points. Lebanon Valley's Kate Fitzpatrick led LVC with six points while Samya Santiague had five points.
Third Quarter, Messiah leads 59-35
Coming out of the break, the third quarter was all about
Leah Springer, scoring 13 points, extending the Messiah lead to 59-35. Earning numerous "and one" opportunities, Springer scored 13 of the 21 points in the quarter for the Falcons. As a team the Falcons shot 40% from the floor while the Dutchmen shot 46%. LVC had no answers for Springer headed into quarter number four.
Fourth Quarter, Messiah wins 67-46
The fourth quarter saw 19 combined points scored between the teams, with LVC outscoring Messiah 11-8.

Reese Harden added ten on the night. Messiah shot 42% from the field on the night, while going one for seven from three. The Falcons out-rebounded the Dutchmen by 20, 48-28.
Lebanon Valley shot 32% from the floor on the night, going 2/13 from three. Kate Fitzpatrick and Cristina Fernandez led LVC each with 11 points.
