HILTON HEAD, SC - The men's tennis team lost for the first time in three days against Buena Vista on Wednesday afternoon. The Falcons won two doubles courts but could only tack on two additional singles courts in the 5-4 loss.
Doubles
Rose/Wilson won in a tiebreak on court 1 for the second consecutive day to give the Falcons a doubles win, winning 8-7(4). Third doubles with Martin/Niemi also won a close match 8-6 to give the Falcons two wins after doubles. Baker/Sell lost 3-8 at No. 2 doubles.
Singles
Due to court conditions early, the singles matches were only played to eight game pro sets. It was
Connor Rose at No. 2 and
Ellis Martin at No. 6 who added the other wins for the Falcons on the afternoon.
Chase Wilson dropped his match on court 1, 6-8. Rose won his pro set 8-6 at No. 2 while
Michael Sell dropped his match 6-8.
Jonathan Baker fell 1-8 while
Josh Gingerich lost 6-8. As mentioned, Martin was the only other win for the Falcons winning in a tiebreak 8-7(4).
